"Dabangg" means "Fearless". It is the story of a corrupt and fearless cop Chulbul Pandey, who has a troubled relationship with his family. He is "Robinhood" Pandey, in a lawless land, follow him in his journey as he tries to bridge the gap of the family and deal with the hoods in his mad unparalleled ways.Sonakshi Sinha (d/o Shatrughan Sinha) makes her debut with this film playing Chulbul Pandey's love interest. The film brings back to celluloid the Masala flicks synonymous with the 80-90s era which were filled with emotion, drama, action, love story and item numbers. Its packed hilarious witty dialogues, intense action sequences sprinkled with excellent comic timing and Salmaan Khan like never before.
Salmaan's characterization is fresh aswell as endearing and plays on his strengths - intensity and comedy.Dabangg has a befitting ensemble cast of Arbaaz Khan as the dimwit half-brother, Sonu Sood as the acrimonious villain along with Vinod Khanna, Dimple Kapdia.Malika Arora looks fabulous in the item number. Barring a few hiccups on the storyline with band-aid scenes and some half baked roles like that of Mahesh Manjrekar the film is a full-on entertainer.Dabangg breaks the modern trend of having boorish dialogues in action/rustic movies.
Music of Dabangg is good and accentuates the film very well."Tere Mast Mast Nain", "Chori Kiya Re", "Udd Udd Dabangg" (this one reminds me of Omkara) and even "Munni Badnam" songs are doing especially well on the charts.
On the whole Chulbul Pandey aka Robinhood Pandey will make the audience fall in love with him and make the box-office say "kaaaching".
