Shahrukh Khan is currently shooting in London for his forthcomming action film Ra.1 with Kareena Kapoor. Karan Johar is lending a helping hand and sharing his directorial tips on location aswell. Alright folks, August seems to be a pretty eventful month at the Box Office. As Bollywood dishes out films catering to a variety of audiences- Young n youthful, Horror,action,feel good with a strong message,to serious topic of farmer suicides and a comedy on workplace harassment!! Here are some movies I suggest to look forward to this coming month!

Directed by Tarun Mansukhani (Dostana fame) and Produced by Karan Johar this animated feature will tell the tale of 3 dogs Rocky, Angie and Tina. The voiceover will be by noneother than Shahrukh Khan (Rocky), Kajol (Angie), Rani Mukherjee(Tina), Uday Chopra and Sanjay Dutt (as Aman).

"Khatta Meetha" is a damp affair, its neither Khatta nor Meetha. This is NOT the laugh riot that one has started to expect from Priyadarshan-Akshay.
With this film Priyadarshan has taken his usual comic brigade of Asrani, Rajpal Yadav, Jonny Lever et al to make a political satire on the sad,convoluted and corrupted state of Municipality and its contractors. Khatta Meetha starts off in a comic fashion but then takes on a serious turn.The humor seems forced, predictable filled with loud boisterous dialogues. Grated there are some isolated sequenced which are funny and witty. Akshay has once again proved he is a brilliant actor as he solely carries the film on his shoulder. Infact he is the saving grace of the film. Asrani and Rajpal Yadav are noteworthy.
From a Trade perspective the movie will recover its money as the film is low budget. Watch it if you must but wait for the DVD to come out.

Alright folks here is the first promo of Karan Johar's Indian remake "We are family" of the Hollywood flick "Stepmom" starring Kajol, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal in leads roles. The movie is slated to release in September 2010.
Review: I Hate Luv Stories

Chiffon-clad heroins atop snow capped mountains, heros sporting leather jackets. dancing in the rain with loads of drama -all so cliched Bollywoodish. And yet we buy it every single time! Why? This movie explores the answer. "I Hate love stories" (IHLS) is a maxim Jay Dhingra "J" (Imran Khan) lives by. However he is an assistant to the industries most romantic filmmaker Veer Kapoor (read Karan Johar spoof) on a current love story project. J's cynicism clashes with set-designer Simren's world, (Sonam Kapoor) who is a sucker for love stories and even has boyfriend Raj to complete her perfect, dreamy world.
IHLS has great comic timing and spoofs which send the audience in splits of laughter.Sonam Kapoor has a new look and gets an A for effort however she still comes across Barbie dollish. Imran Khan is fantastic in the movie and essays an array of emotions effortlessly - not to mention his abs! Sameer Soni as Veer Kapoor and Sammir Dattani as Raj are note worthy in their performances.
The title track "I hate Luv Stories" is already a hit with the charts,but you may find yourselves humming to "Bin Tere" aswell. Manish Malhotra has done a great job fashioning for his nephew Punit Malhotra's film. The look is young,hep and so Abercombie & Fitch!! All in all IHLS is a "Good Luv Story", barring a few hiccups where it drags from time to time but its fun to watch, to sit back relax and enjoy.
